Find My Holster Belt Holsters
Belt holsters are classic carry options for buyers who want firm support at the waist and a familiar draw position. They work well for everyday use, field use, open carry and range setups.
Your belt is part of the fit. Check belt width, loop design, hand orientation, carry angle and whether leather or another rugged material best matches your use.
Western and Belt Holster FAQs
Common belt and western holster questions. Straight answers.
How should a western holster belt fit?
Measure where the rig will actually sit, not your normal pants size. Western belts often ride lower, so a pants-size guess can be wrong by several inches.
Are cartridge loops worth having on a belt holster?
They are useful for a traditional field or western rig, but only if the loop size matches the cartridge. The wrong loop size can be loose, tight, or stretch the leather badly.
Does a leather belt holster need break-in?
A little break-in is normal, but it should not feel like you are forcing the firearm into the wrong holster. Work the fit gradually and avoid over-oiling, because too much oil can soften the leather more than you want.
Should I choose strong-side, crossdraw, or a drop-style belt holster?
Strong-side is the common all-around choice. Crossdraw can be more comfortable when seated or riding. Drop-style rigs give a classic western feel, but they need a stable belt and careful fit so they do not swing around.
