Find My Holster Shoulder Holsters
Shoulder holsters are useful for buyers who want to move weight off the belt and carry comfortably across the upper body. They work well under jackets, during travel, long outdoor days and seated positions.
Compare vertical, horizontal and dual shoulder systems. Fit depends on strap adjustment, balance, hand orientation and material such as leather, nylon or webbing.
Shoulder Holster FAQs
Common shoulder holster questions. Straight answers.
When does a shoulder holster make more sense than belt carry?
Shoulder holsters are most useful when you spend a lot of time sitting, driving, or wearing a jacket. They keep the weight off the belt line and make access easier when a waistband holster is covered or pressed into a seat.
Why does a shoulder holster feel awkward at first?
Usually the harness is not adjusted yet. A good fit should sit flat, hold the holster steady, and avoid pulling one side down. Many people need a few small strap adjustments before it stops shifting.
Should I buy a horizontal or vertical shoulder holster?
Horizontal rigs usually feel quicker with compact and mid-size pistols. Vertical rigs keep longer barrels closer to the body and can feel cleaner under a coat. The firearm size and your cover garment matter more than the label.
Can a shoulder holster work in warm weather?
Only if your clothing supports it. A light overshirt or vest can work, but if you need to remove the cover layer often, an IWB or OWB holster may be simpler for that day.
